Das Guillain-Barré-Syndrom ist eine akute immunvermittelte Polyradikuloneuropathie mit rasch progredienter Schwäche und Areflexie.
Zu den wichtigen Subtypen zählen akute inflammatorische demyelinisierende Polyneuropathie (AIDP), akute motorische axonale Neuropathie (AMAN), akute motorische sensible axonale Neuropathie (AMSAN) und das Miller-Fisher-Syndrom.
Wegen möglicher Atem- und autonomer Komplikationen ist eine frühe stationäre Überwachung und Therapie zentral.
